TWO MAJOR REASONS WHY NIKE IS KILLIN’ IT

Nike's your go-to for fly AF kicks and the activewear you need to #makesweatsexy -- but now there's a few more reasons to feel warm and fuzzy about those fleece-lined leggings you're rockin' this weekend.

The brand has already made serious commitments to diversity, inking sponsorship deals with kicka$$ athletes like Serena Williams and Simone Biles, to name a few. And now, Nike is making MAJOR strides towards body and religious inclusivity with the launch of an expanded Plus Size collection AND the upcoming release of the Nike Pro Hijab.

“The days where we have to add ‘female’ before ‘athlete’ are over. She is an athlete, period. And having helped fuel this cultural shift, we celebrate these athletes’ diversity, from ethnicity to body shape,” says the brand.  

While plus-size gear is nothing new for Nike -- the brand’s had extended sizing for years -- the expanded collection adds more colors and styles AND includes new pieces specifically designed for curvy babes.

As Helen Boucher, HBIC of women’s training apparel at Nike, said in a statement, “Strong is the new keyword for us; size doesn’t matter.” Peep more from the collection here.

The Pro Hijab marks Nike’s first foray into activewear for Muslim athletes -- and the breathable mesh makes it both functional and chic AF. While they’re not the first to release a technical hijab, it’s a HUGE deal for a global brand like Nike.

“By providing Muslim athletes with the most groundbreaking products . . . Nike aims to serve today’s pioneers as well as inspire even more women and girls,” said the brand. The Nike Pro Hijab is slated to hit stores later this year -- read more about it here.
