Pride Spotlight: Tom Feeney
How does ((305)) celebrate Pride?
We encourage everyone to be anything and everything they want to be during class. No one's here to judge. ((305)) is a celebration of your identity, one that can change every time you step into class.
What's your go-to, take-it-to-the-next level move when you're crushing on someone?
What's the best song to play when you're in the mood to cruise?
*Mm Tst Mm Tst Mm Tst*
What's your advice to someone who might be confused/struggling with/questioning/exploring their sexuality?
Your group matters. Surround yourself with the people you strive to be. If you can't physically do so, the internet has been an amazing resource of connection and insight.
How can fitness be a tool for empowering people?
ENDORPHINS! There's power in action. Endorphins make you happy. They're a natural high that let you feel more like yourself and more in tune with what you need.
What's your coming out story?
I came out to friends online mostly or through summer camp when I was thirteen.
My parents didn't find out until two years later when I left my AIM profile up on my computer and it had my current boyfriend in it. ANDY ❤️
LOLOLOL look at me now, mah!
There are lots of stereotypes about gay or queer people. In your opinion, what's the worst stereotype/the one that bugs you most?
I hate the assumption that for gay men, being Top/Bottom sexually means being the man/woman in the pairing. You do you!
What's the best part about being gay/queer?
The best part about being gay is to know that my openness is rooted in a longer history of brave pioneers. It's inspiring be a part of a community that has a long history of badass leaders who paved the way for me to live openly and proudly today.
