Instructor Spotlight: Katie Lakotko
MEOW! Katie Lakotko’s class is sassy, fun, and always has you feelin’ yourself. Seriously, you can’t help but smile and when you’ve got the Pussykat leading you through a fierce AF cardio sesh.
We caught up with Katie to learn about how she first learned about 305, what gets her in the zone, and how she chills out between dancing and teaching.
How'd you hear about 305 and what drew you to audition?
My old roomie, a fellow dancer and fitness fanatic, told me all about 305 and said, “It’s got ‘KATIE’ written all over it!” I looked it up online and had to pick my jaw up off the floor! Bloop!
I took my first class with Symone and it was love at first sight 😍
Love it! So how do you get in the zone before teaching?
Yaaas! After teaching & dancing, how do you chill out?
My favorite way to relax after 305 is to grab a smoothie from Liquiteria and chill in Washington Square Park to either people-watch or journal. Or sometimes, I just act a fool with Bryan and Maricela at the Village front desk. 💋
If you got to be on RuPaul's Drag Race, what would your opening entrance line be?
"If you're not on the beat, are you even living? BLOOP! * flip hair and walk away*
What's a random fact that most people wouldn't know about you?
I have a tail! I broke my tailbone when I was younger and it just healed a weird way so it protrudes a little. 305 pussykat forreal!
If you had to pick a doughnut to eat for the rest of your life, what flavor would it be?
JUST ONE?! A classic jelly filled is always my go-to, but the PB&J from Doughnut Plant slays my life. 🍩
When you're not at 305, where can junkies find you?
At one of the following three places: a drag show, the gym, or Barclays Center dancing for the Brooklyn Nets.
