GET OUTTA TOWN THIS WEEKEND

You kicked butt at work this week and twerked up a storm in class -- now celebrate President's Day by getting the hell out of the city you're stuck in literally every other weekend.

There is a hella long stretch between this three-day weekend and the next one, which somehow (horrifyingly) isn't till the end of May -- so don't waste one bit of it! Grab your bae or your bestie and head for the hills, or at least for a fancy AF Airbnb. Some fresh surroundings will clear your head -- who couldn't use a little midwinter vacay?

We've put together a handy little guide to the best road trips that won't require more than one tank of gas -- whether you're trying to escape NYC, DC or Boston. Find a friend with a car, crank up the tunes and hit the road, junkies.

NYC TRIPPIN' : Woodstock It may not be quite the muddy love fest that it was in 1969, but Bethel, NY is still ridiculously cute, whether or not you're looking for a hippie-fueled acid flashback. This little farm town is about two hours outside the Big Apple -- and the roadtrip playlist writes itself: crank up The Who, Jefferson Airplane and a whole lotta Jimi Hendrix to get you into that purple haze frame of mind. While you're there, don't miss the museum built on the site of the famed festival-- which is focused on the history, sure, but also just on the "experience" of Woodstock. The town is adorable, too -- check out the Catskill Distillery Company or  get your Om on with a guided meditation at the Karma Triyana Dharmachakra religious retreat. Peace and love, junkies.

D.C. TRIPPIN': Baltimore It's a quick one-hour trip up to B'more but the city could. not. be. cooler. -- it's got all the arts scene that D.C.'s missing. Make a speedy stop at the touristy National Harbor for the spectacular views of the Chesapeake and the can't-miss aquarium, but don't stay too long. Instead, head into Canton for some unreal Italian food, catch a concert at Rams Head Live or check out the divier -- and way cooler -- Ottobar or Club Charles. Do not miss the Station North murals or especially the American Visionary Art Museum -- an edgy AF museum devoted to outsider artists. And obvs, don't skip the crab cakes while you're in Maryland.

BOSTON TRIPPIN': Portland It may not have the quirky street cred of it's Oregon sister city, but Portland, Maine is a funky little fishing town that's well worth the two hour trip from Bean Town. The harbor views are picture-perfect enough to make all your Insta followers jealous -- especially from the top of Portland Observatory. While you're oceanside, stop for a drink and some local music at the Portland Lobster Company or nearby Liquid Riot Bottling Co., a distillery, restaurant and bar in one. Keep rockin' all night with a concert at One Longfellow Square or Port City Music Hall -- and then to cure your hangover next morning, there's only one answer: The Holy Donut.
